For college students with ADHD

A steadier college experience starts with systems that fit their brain.

For college students with ADHD, managing classes, deadlines, and daily life can feel overwhelming. The ADHD Pivot Program helps your student build practical time management and self-advocacy skills, greater confidence and independence, plus a plan for getting back on track when things slip.

Whether challenges are just beginning or your student is already feeling overwhelmed, the right systems and support can make a difference.

You don't have to keep wondering when small struggles might turn into bigger ones. Let's talk about what support would look like for your student.

  • Practical tools for real college demands

  • Self-advocacy skills that build confidence

  • A plan for getting back on track

THE PROBLEM

They know what they need to do. Getting it done is the hard part.

An assignment sits untouched until the deadline feels urgent. Exam dates arrive faster than expected. An email to a professor gets drafted in their head but never sent. And when one difficult week turns into several, getting back on track can feel impossible.

As a parent, it's hard to watch your capable student become overwhelmed, fall behind, or lose confidence with the everyday demands of college. Reminders and last-minute rescue plans may help for a day, but your student needs practical systems, self-advocacy skills, and tools they can use more independently, before small struggles become bigger problems.

INTRODUCING THE SOLUTION

A practical pivot for the moments college gets messy.

The ADHD Pivot Program helps students create a workable approach to managing their time, asking for support, and building systems they can use before problems arise or when they start to feel overwhelmed or fall behind.

They'll practice planning around real college demands, learn how to communicate their needs, and build practical systems and reset strategies they can use more independently.

The goal is greater confidence, independence, and progress they can own, not a perfect routine they have to maintain forever.

WHO THIS IS FOR

This could be a fit if your college student…

  • Has ADHD and finds it difficult to keep track of classes, assignments, exams, and everyday tasks.

  • Wants to feel more confident speaking with professors and using available accommodations.

  • Often knows what to do but gets stuck starting or following through.

  • Falls behind and needs a clear way to regroup without giving up on the semester.

  • Needs accountability, check-ins, and a clear system to stay on track and follow through.

This program is designed for students aged 18–21. Parents can start the conversation, and students do not need to have everything figured out or feel completely ready at the start. The goal is to help them become more engaged as they build confidence and see what works for them.

WHAT THEY'LL WORK TOWARD

Give them systems, support, and a clear way forward when college starts to feel overwhelming.

By working through the program, your student will build:

  • A way to see commitments and deadlines in one place.

  • Strategies to make their study space and daily life easier to manage.

  • Systems that help them get started, follow through, and stay accountable.

  • A realistic approach to preparing for exams, papers, and presentations.

  • More confidence requesting accommodations and talking with professors.

  • A personal reset plan for catching up after a difficult stretch.

The goal is to help your student build confidence, take ownership, and develop systems they can rely on with support and accountability along the way. Every student's situation is different. Caryn can discuss whether the program fits your student's needs on a call.

Brooke K

Working with Caryn throughout college made a real difference for me. She helped me develop skills for managing my time, organizing my workload and responsibilities, and breaking larger tasks into manageable steps so I could stay on track.

She also held me accountable while helping me build the confidence to advocate for myself and handle challenges more independently, all of which played an important role in my successful graduation.

I’ve continued working with Caryn as I begin my job search, and she is helping me use those same skills to stay organized, focused, and confident as I take this next step. I am someone who struggles with ADHD, and she is patient with me and has really helped me break things down into small pieces. I recommend her 100%!

Lauren V

When I started with Caryn in college I was overwhelmed and behind. She helped me build real systems to get organized, advocate for myself, and build the confidence and accountability I needed.

She was supportive and I enjoyed working with her as my ADHD coach and appreciate the positive impact she had on both my personal and professional growth.

MEET CARYN

Support from someone who understands ADHD, college, and how to build systems that work.

Caryn created The ADHD Pivot Program to help college students with ADHD build the systems, accountability, self-advocacy, and confidence they need to manage college more independently, while still having the support to keep moving forward.

Caryn is an ADHD and Executive Function Coach, longtime college professor, founder of ADHD Pivot LLC, and holds a master’s degree. Her work focuses on helping students strengthen planning, time management, task initiation, organization, follow-through, and confidence.

Her experience as a college professor gives her insight into what professors expect and where students can begin to struggle, while her previous project and program management experience brings a strong systems approach to coaching: breaking down overwhelm, creating manageable next steps, building accountability, and helping students follow through.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Helpful answers before you begin.

What if they have already fallen behind?

They can still benefit. The program helps students figure out where they are, identify what needs attention first, break things into manageable steps, and create a plan to move forward. They also build strategies they can use the next time they begin to feel overwhelmed.

Is this for parents or students?

The program is designed for college students with ADHD, ages 18–21. Parents are welcome to book the initial call and discuss what they are seeing. Students do not need to have everything figured out before starting. The goal is to help them become more engaged as they build confidence, find systems that work, and begin taking more ownership of their college experience.

What if things are going well right now?

That can be an ideal time to put systems in place. Students do not need to wait until they are overwhelmed or falling behind. The program can help them build stronger routines, self-advocacy skills, confidence, and strategies they can use as college becomes more demanding.

Can my student start if the semester is already underway?

Yes! Students can benefit whether they are being proactive, starting to feel overwhelmed, or already trying to get back on track. The program is designed to meet them where they are and help them build a clearer way forward.

What if my student already has accommodations?

That is absolutely fine. The program goes beyond obtaining accommodations. Students also learn how to use them effectively, communicate with professors, ask for help when needed, and manage the day-to-day demands of college more independently.

Is it just about using a calendar?

No. Calendar planning is one part of the program. Students also work on managing exams and major assignments, organization, getting started, follow-through, self-advocacy, accommodations, communication with professors, building social connections, getting involved on campus, and developing the confidence to enjoy college more fully.

What support is included with the program?

The program includes lessons, worksheets, and group coaching calls with Caryn. These calls give students a place to talk through current challenges, ask questions, share strategies and solutions, celebrate wins, and build accountability as they put what they are learning into practice.

What if my student needs more individualized support?

Some students benefit from additional one-on-one coaching. Individual coaching sessions are available separately from the program and can provide more personalized support, accountability, and problem-solving around what is happening in their college experience. Caryn can discuss whether individual coaching may be helpful during the initial call.

Is this therapy or academic tutoring?

No. ADHD Pivot focuses on coaching students to build systems, strengthen executive function skills, improve follow-through, advocate for themselves, and become more independent. It does not provide therapy, medical treatment, or subject-specific tutoring.

A CLEARER WAY FORWARD

Imagine your student feeling confident, capable, and knowing what to do when college gets off track.

College will still have missed deadlines, stressful weeks, and unexpected challenges. But your student can learn how to recognize when they are starting to slip, ask for support, use the systems they have built, and take the next step instead of shutting down.
